Do you want to be judge or a learner?

When experience thoughts that carry strong emotion, take a moment to ask yourself how you want to respond to your thoughts. You have choice. You can follow a path of judgement, a path that is reactive and leads to harsh critical thinking. Or you can pursue an outlook of a learner; a way of being that embraces openness, curiosity, humility and opportunities for growth. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an approach that helps us observe our thoughts more closely. During difficult times people often find themselves stuck in negative patterns of thinking, it is here that reaction abounds. Thought biases like black and white thinking, all-or-nothing thinking, overestimate of threat, negative predictions, mind-reading take over. Learning to observe and label thought processes is a significant step in a path towards change. Follow me on Instagram and facebook.
